Music's Second Biggest Night
THE BRIEF
Every summer, Gupta Media hosts a party for their clients in New York City. Close to 500 invitations are sent out to professionals in the entertainment industry across the United States and internationally. Held at a swanky rooftop bar in Hell’s Kitchen, the party is a way for Gupta Media to thank clients for a year of creative campaigns and positive ROI’s. Every party has a different visual style, which makes every year feel unique, fresh, and exclusive.
The Style
2016's event branding sought to capture the natural vibrance and rhythm of New York in the heat of summer. Weathered paint textures, patterns of magnolia flowers, and fun linework illustrations were combined with well-known NYC icons - Lady Liberty and the infamous pigeon. Playful hand drawn typography was set in bright colors, loud and eye-catching enough to flag a cab.
The physical invite
Part of what makes this event so noteworthy is how much our clients look forward to and hold on to the invitation and the swag that comes along with it. Past event posters could be seen hanging in offices years after the party happened, so we decided to start making the invitation even more worthy of hanging around. 2015 was the first year we designed a custom t-shirt for the event, so the tradition continued for 2016 to a lot of fanfare. A handful of custom 3-inch round stickers were also included with the printed invitation to round out the fun freebies.
DIGITAL SUPPORT
After physical invitations had arrived on our client’s desks, an electronic invitation was sent out to provide a one-click way to RSVP to the party. An additional email was sent out a few weeks before the party as a reminder, and then a final email was sent the night of the party outlining some of the finer details for attendees.
The NIGHT OF
Custom posters and signage were made for the night of the party as well. A large sign on the main floor pointed our guests in the right direction, while bartop signs highlighted the night’s custom cocktail lineup.
